Crews from multiple departments extricate the fourth patient to an awaiting helicopter.
Four people heading back to the New York, when the driver fell a sleep at the wheel, crossed over two medians with drainage ditches and came to rest as seen here in the photo. A “Serious Rescue Box” was dispatched to the scene. This consists of two rescue squads, two ambulances, an engine and a medic unit.
On R59 arrival, they assessed the scene and determined that all four patients were entrapped inside the vehicle and requested an aero medical helicopter and an additional medic unit.
There were a total of 3 Priority One Patients which were airlifted from the scene and there was 1 Priority Two Patient who was transported by ground.
