100 Block of Freas Road

On April 21, 1995, a fire box was dispatched to the 100 block of Freas Rd. for a building fire. Engine 5 arrives to find the building fully involved. A second alarm was called for a report of smoke coming from the roof of a neighboring house. This section of town has no hydrant system. 500 feet of LDH was laid back to the highway to where a tanker supplied water to douse this fire. The telequirt, a deuce and a half, and an 1 3/4′ (used to protect the exposure in the rear.) This fire was brought under control in 1 hour 12 minutes.
