Delaware Memorial Bridge Accident - July 27, 2000
On July 27, 2000 several area companies were alerted for a vehicle crash on the DE memorial bridge West bound for a vehicle crash. Upon arrival units found a Volvo car that was rear ended by a large truck. It was quickly determined that One patient in the rear seat was deceased and a second patient underneath the car was also deceased. A third patient was trapped in the passengers seat of the car. Extrication crews from Delaware and New Jersey worked to free the pinned patient with several rescue tools. The patient was taken to Christina Trauma center in Stanton DE in critical condition by Ambulance 20 and New Castle Medic 2.
