15 Sycamore Rd. Dwelling Fire
On April 6, 2007 at 6:43 a.m. Station 5, Station 7, Engine 6, and FAST 12 were alerted for a dwelling fire, reported working. Upon Deputy Chief 5-10A arriving, a single story, single family dwelling was confirmed to be a working basement fire. Quint 5-6 laid in with 5″ supply line and placed a 2″ handline in service via the exterior bilco doors into the basement. Rescue 5’s crew was sent to the first floor to perform a search. Due to a spongy first floor with fire starting to burn through several areas of the first floor, crews were removed from the interior and the fire was extinguished from the exterior. Crews were on scene for 2 1/2 hours. Click on pictures above to view larger images.
